At Screen Porch Studio we keep a wide world view. Owner Adam Troidl believes in sharing knowledge on subjects he is involved in, whether with the local farm or a national audience on a technical topic.

 

Events

Presenting live, appearing on corporate YouTube channels, and attending many conferences and events gives Adam the opportunity to gain and share knowledge to stay at the leading edge.

  • WordCamp Maine 2016 attendee. This conference focuses on WordPress, the open source platform that powers millions of websites and is seen by tens of millions of people every day.
  • Envision Maine involvement includes attendance and planning of events:
    • 2016 participant in planning process for June Summit on Education and Innovation
    • November 2015 attendee at Second Annual Envision Maine Summit, a gathering of innovators, entrepreneurs, and others who are shaping Maine’s future and the next economy
    • June 2015 attendee at Maine’s Economy and Climate Change: Challenges and Opportunities. This conference looked at the topic of climate change from a local, regional, and small business perspective including the positive benefits and negative impacts for Mainers
  • Host of a green building open house every year since his LEED Certified home was completed
  • Greenbuild attendee in 2009, 2011, and 2012 along with many other educational sessions in Maine, online, and elsewhere concerning green and resilient building and overall sustainability issues
  • Currently appearing on the Autodesk and YouBIM YouTube channels discussing BIM solutions and integration
  • Regional and national speaker on topics ranging from BIM integration to energy optimization.  Appearances include Pulse 2014, IBM’s national convention; IBM campus event in November 2013; Fall COAA 2012 with Autodesk; NEHES 2012 Fall event; MIAQC in 2012; March 2012 BSA BIM Roundtable and 2012 MAFMA Spring Meeting with IBM and TRO|JB; January 2012 USGBC Maine Chapter Green Eggs meeting
  • Attending a variety of events on subjects such as BIM, healthcare design, and green building
  • BIM-focused events including BIMSmart Summit in March 2013, Autodesk BIM event in April 2012, multiple BSA BIM Roundtable sessions, and additional sessions in conjunction with speaking opportunities mentioned above
  • Work in the healthcare sector included attending Healthcare Design from 2005-08 and a United States Pharmacopoeia Workshop in 2004

  • Performing site plan, subdivision, and design review for projects required to participate in the process by Town Ordinances
