The transformation of an existing Hospital into an outpatient center after the opening of a new regional hospital kept a vital healthcare presence in this central Maine city. Adam was the Project Management Team lead for MaineGeneral in redevelopment of the Thayer campus into the largest outpatient center in the State of Maine. Improving site circulation, parking, and patient access to a new main entrance on the outside – while bringing many varied medical practices together on the inside – redefined Thayer for the next generation. All new public spaces on the main level welcome patients and their families to a center of convenient coordinated care. This project also used IPD, like the larger Alfond Center for Health, but tailored to a smaller $16 million renovation to provide ultimate flexibility in dealing with existing conditions on a multi-phase campus.
